Slim, large bladeDec 15, 2005

Sure, a multitool or full-on swiss army knife will provide you with almost any tool you might need, but at the cost of bulging pockets and added weight.
Having a simple blade can be more useful than anything else. This knife is large enough to cut an apple, open a package, snip a zip-tie, but small enough to lie flat in your pocket, unnoticed. It is sharp, and feels durable while being light. The metal case is slimmer than the standard red plastic/resin cases.

I carried a multi-purpose Swiss Army knife for a long time before realizing that it was taking up a lot of space in my pocket for something that I only used for a single knife-blad. The "Solo" makes the perfect replacement. Although not as slim as the nearly paper-thin "Secretary" model, it feels much sturdier and the blade is slightly longer. Closed, the knife is slightly thicker than I had expected, but it is still far more slim than a typical Swiss Army Knife. If you want easy access to a reliable, versatile, single blade - this is the one. If you need the slimmest possible knife, go with the "Secretary."

I'm not an expert on pocket knives or Victorinox knives. I simply lost my favorite pocket knife and I wanted to get a new one. I didn't need a McGyver knife with toothpicks, can openers, barbed-wire cutting tools, survival hacksaw tools or any tools at all. I simply needed a pocket knife with one (or two) blades that was light enough to carry with me every day. This Solo fit the bill perfectly. It is light and has a single blade that retains a crisp edge. It is a tiny bit larger than most "ordinary" pocket knives but it's light weight makes up for it's girth. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for something simple that does the job.

This is a great knife. I know everyone dosent have the same size hand but it fits perfectly in mine. The balance down the length of the whole knife is excellent. Probably the most comfortable knife of its type I have ever held. It is nice and light and nice and slim too. Everyone says that you can hardly feel it in your pocket and they are right. This is my new carry around knife. I dont like big clunky pocket knifes and this is a very simple rugged yet neat looking knife. The blade dosent wiggle at all and the grip is like a rock too. If you want a no frills durable slim workhorse pocket knife then this is it.Because it is ribbed it makes a great knife if you have to work with wet hands too. Buy it and love it.

This is a good single blade knife. My favorite feature is that the knife really has a strong spring when you open it. The solo really seems to lock in place and the snap is solid. Good for EDA use!!
