The TSA creates employment in Switzerland...Nov 20, 2010
By York Brun Luethje Had to sacrifice my old Huntsman at a recent TSA check. Ah well. The fact that I immediately bought a new one should be testament to the fact that it is a really good pocket knife (to me).
One gets a versatile mix of tools: two knifes, can and bottle opener, corkscrew, screwdriver and woodsaw, amongst others. The large knife doesn't lock and I could do without the small one (and get a file instead?) but I've had my old one for 15+ years and used it all the time. I've never had an issue with the case during that time so I wouldn't worry about it falling off. In fact the only problem I ever had was with the spring mechanism on a pair of scissors (on a Swiss Tool). Victorinx in any case offers a lifetime guarantee so none of this should be an issue.
All in all a fantastic tool and when my friends at the TSA fancy this one I'll just get another. Victorinow

Great KnifeMar 19, 2006
By Kathleen Mcintosh The Swiss Army knife is a staple in our life. When one is broken or lost, we immediately order another one.
The only criticism I would have is that the plastic cases give out and the brads come out long before the knife looses its usefulness, so then I carry a naked knife around in my pocket

Great toolOct 05, 2011

"Sarcasm slave"
This knife is extremely useful. I've had it for about 5 years now and remains as good as when I initially got it. Both the long blade and short blade are EXTREMELY sharp; while cutting some box ties, the knife went through them more easily than I expected and the short blade ended up in my arm. I've now got a scar to remind me how sharp it is, and I'm just thankful it wasn't the long blade. The wood saw is very sharp and goes through wood very quickly.
All in all, a very useful tool.

perfect for the rabid floral HunterSep 28, 2010
By Bartok Kinski
"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."
The Victorinox Swiss Army Huntsman Pocket Knife is perfect for the rabid Hunter to carry while gutting certain peacocked feathered birds, or alpine mousecats or supine wearing sneezerats.
Since I am a vegetarian, I can not comment on the effectiveness of such details. I use mine mainly as a botanical tool to collect floral samples in rain forests.
The wood saw is easy to use while de-stemming stemmed leaf stems on stems. The scissors snap leaves. The tweezers are essential for getting out thorns or plucking delirious termites clinging to your flesh. The toothpick is great for touching sensitive anatomical areas of a female flower.
In all, it's a great product really made great by the Germans who make it.
This is a classic SAKFeb 21, 2012
By C. Love This is a sturdy, but compact SAK and has all the features a man needs without much bulk. I thought I lost my old one for good, so I bought this one, which has everything my old one did, plus scissors and the string hook (for carrying items bound with string so it won't dig into your fingers). I was so happy with it, my old one ended up stowed away after I found it again. Hones like a razor and the translucent blue looks smart! I carry this knife all day, every day!
