5Great knifeOct 25, 2007

This is a great knife, I like this boyscout model better since it replaces the corkscrew with a philips screwdriver.

3Functional but has safety issuesMar 21, 2010
By RJL
This knife has plenty of nice functionality for a Scout. However, it does not lock open, so the blade can fold back on his hand if he is not very careful. Plus, you really cannot tell which side of the small blade is the sharp side without looking very carefully for the fold-out notch in the knife. When the knife is dirty from use, the notch is especially hard to see. So it's a functional tool, but safety and thought to detail seem to have been largely left out of the equation. Therefore, I would recommend this only for older Scouts.

5Best Practical Swiss KnifeJan 01, 2008
By Phil Geusz
I've carried the Boy Scout model Swiss Army knife for over fifteen years. In my opinion, it embodies the most useful combination of Swiss Army features available in a "pocketable" package. After all, how often does one need a corkscrew, anyway? The quality is superb; I'd still be carrying my original decade-and-a-half old knife if I hadn't bent one of the blades (through flagrant abuse) to the point that it was no longer sharpenable.

I use this product at least daily, and after fifteen years can't imagine life without it.

5Perfect sizeJan 31, 2012
By Eric McIntosh
This is the second Huntsman I've purchased. My son picked one out at the Scout Shop a couple of years ago, and loves it. My daughter recently asked for a Swiss Army knife, so we went online to find one with all the tools she wanted. In the end, it was the Huntsman. They both like that it has scissors and a saw, without being too bulky. What we liked particularly about the Boy Scout version is that they replaced the corkscrew with a phillips head screwdriver. Great knife, Victorinox quality. I'm sure I'll order another when the little guy is ready for one. Maybe one for dad, too...

1Not as AdvertisedJun 13, 2011
By acscomps
Nothing wrong with the knife except it does not have the Boy Scout emblem embossed on the handle as advertised. It's just a plain huntsman knife, which you can buy for a few dollars less without the scout emblem. Sent it back with this complaint and promptly received a replacement knife just like the one I sent back....no scout emblem. So I'm giving up and sending it back for refund.
