All the essentials, no frillsMay 12, 2007

"camp doc"
Searched forever to find the perfect minimalist camping knife, and finally found it in the bantam. The blade will cuts anything you're likely to have on a camping trip. I think it's a good compromise between the mini blades and the larger ones, but it'll cut salami and cheese for years to come :). I was skeptical of the 'combo tool' at first as I couldn't find a review, but have been pleasantly surprised. It's shaped much like the regular bottle opener, and it doesn't have a blade on it, but it turns out that doesn't matter. It opens cans of tuna just as well as the regular can opener tool on all the other swiss army knives. All in all, it's small, light weight, and functional, and that's perfect for me. A 4 just because there is always room for improvement, not because I've found anything wrong yet.

dissapears in pocket.Jul 24, 2006
By Gabriel Rousseau This knife is great if you don't want a whole bunch of tools, but still want a swiss army knife. It's quite thin and easy to forget about when carrying. Just for the record also, the tool opposite of the blade is a combo tool, which opens bottles AND cans, as well as functions as a screwdriver. This is a quality knife, and yet so inexpensive, it's almost disposable. Not that you would want to dispose of it!

A pocket knife for your pocketJan 26, 2006
By B. Bowling If you want a few more functions than just your basic single blade but still want to actually be able to carry it in your pocket, then this is the knife for you.
It's a little bigger than the swiss army pocket pal, but not as large as the normal swiss army knife. The main blade is decent sized, was reasonably sharp when I got it, and holds an edge well. Neither the blade nor the can opener lock in the open position. The sides are the standard glossy red finish.
Tools/functions include the large blade, bottle opener, wire stripper, straight blade screwdriver(between #1 and #2 size), tweezers, toothpick, and key ring. The one I have does not have a can opener function.

Family Tradition - GREAT KNIFE!!!Sep 09, 2011
By I_FearNoEvil I have carried this knife in my back pocket for months now and sometimes I forget its there!
My Grandpa has carried a Swiss Army Knife (the two blade pocket knife) since I can remember and I believe its the SAME one! I'm 25 so I went with this knife because of the bottle opener.
I hoping this one lasts as long as my Grandpa's knife. Its lightweight and GREAT quality. BUY IT!

Just the basicsOct 06, 2010
By William D. Doherty I was looking for a very simple pocket-knife, and I found it with the Victorinox Bantam. I have a small supply of folding pocket-knives, but either they are too large or too heavy to carry around in your pocket all day. This one is perfect. It has the essentials: blade (doesn't lock), bottle opener, toothpick, and tweezers. You can barely feel it in your pocket. I have a lot of Victorinox products, and all of them are really well made.
