4Rerun StoryNov 21, 2005
By Nancy R. "rainbow 15 games"
I didn't realize when I bought this book that it had been included in a book I had read in 1998. It was a short story in the book "Once Upon a Castle" by Nora Roberts. If the description had mentioned this I wouldn't have purchased the book again. It is a wonderful story though and good reading.

5Timeless, magical--don't get me startedOct 15, 2005
By viktor_57 "viktor_57"
If you, like me, are a fan of Ms. Roberts, and I imagine you are, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this, then you can rest assured she delivers with this gem of a tale.

I may be a man, and not just a man, but a manly man, but even I like to snuggle with a Nora Roberts novel in my flannel PJs in front of a cozy fire wrapped up in my afghan sipping chamomile tea. Many a time I recall having finished a Nora Roberts novel, closing the book and then my eyes, lost in the dreamy reverie of the novel's romantic spell, savoring that sweet moment and sighing with both satisfaction and unfulfillable longing. Then I go outside and chop wood.

Calin Farrell, the protagonist of "Spellbound", is also a manly man, as well as being Irish. He returns to his enchanted emerald homeland, weary of the demands of the world, and finds the ravishing Bryna Torrence. What looks to be a straightforward magical romance becomes truly magical when we discover ancient secrets and curses which tempt both destiny and fate and leave us wondering in the power of dreams and an undying love. I could go on, but I would not deny the reader the rapture of discovering for him-/herself the harrowing and thrilling twists that will leave you, dare I say it, spellbound.

4A romantically bewitching fantasy!Feb 17, 2006
By Donna K. "bookcrosser"
Paranormal fantasies aren't my usual genre, but knowing in advance that it was this type of book, I was able to approach it with a deliberately open mind and with the expectations of a story that could translate into a charming "Disney-like" animated fairytale. The concept of a soul-mate kind of love that transcends time and place is powerfully bewitching, and one that strongly appeals to my romantic heart! Nora Roberts is a master at crafting enchanting settings, and as seen though the artful eye of a photographer main character, the Irish countryside vividly comes alive off the pages. At a scant 81 pages, this was an easy-to-read, delightfully romantic fantasy about the wonder and magic of true love that transcends time and place.

3Too short to tellOct 16, 2005
By Amy
This is a sweet, short love story, a thousand years old. A true Nora Roberts tale of Ireland, witches, and history. I enjoyed the tale, but found it to be very "thin". The story could well have been one great novel instead of 94 pages.

5Disappointed with priceSep 04, 2006
By A. J. Reagan Jr.
I buy my books from Amazon almost exclusively but they stung me on this one. I paid $4.95 plus and when the book arrived it carried a Great Value label of @2.99. Shame on you Amazon.
