The only thing that could be improved (at least for the purpose for which I purchased the item) would be to make the volume control a little larger and set it out from the frame of the case so that it would be easier to operate.

My best friend and I have been sending "Talking Letters" on tapes back and forth for over 20 years. These recorders are getting harder and harder to find and since we both use them daily, they do need replacing every few years! The Sony always was the best small cassette recorder on the market for the price, I'm extremely happy to find that it still is. These recorders are made for voice communications... playing and recording in mono and they do a *fantastic* job of that.

This was for my mom, and she's using it very well, she loves it as well! It is exactly what she asked for, and the shipping was sooo fast, it came faster than the estimated date delivery! Impressive.

Did not come with a strap though, found one on my own & then it was complete!
