Description:

In 1884, Master Cutler Karl Elsener started his cutlery factory in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. In 1897, he crafted the Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knife. Since that time, the Elsener family has continued to craft tools in the Victorinox tradition of precision durability and quality. Attempts have been made worldwide to copy Victorinox and its symbol of superior craftsmanship - The red handle knife bearing the "Cross & Shield." Don't be fooled by imitations. To ensure your product is an authentic Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knife or specialty tool, simply look at the base of your large blade for the Victorinox name. All knives have rust-free aluminum alloy separators, blades made of stainless steel, and brass rivets and bushings used to hold the knife layers together. Victorinox is the world leader of pocket tools (Multi-tools and Pocket knives). For every activity, be it professional, in the home or during leisure time, there is a need for excellent tools and cutting implements. Find the one that fits your daily task. Victorinox guarantees all multi-tools to be of first-class stainless steel, and provides a lifetime guarantee against any defects in material and workmanship.

5A perfect knife for myself and a wonderful gift itemApr 29, 2009
By Jien Chien
I've always being Swiss Army Knives fan. Have lots of them to a point that I was not able to buy a new one when I actually visited Switzerland a couple of years ago cause those shops did not carry what I did not have. However, those were not including lockblades. Thought lockblades were too big to carry, besides have plenty of other brand lockblades already.
Because of Switerland military actually changed the standard issue knife from the old one to lockblades in 2008. So went ahead and bought the newer "Soldier", also bought a Jumpmaster to save a couple dollars of shipping. Well, they both arrived the same time, giving me a chance to really compare both side by side. They both feel very secure in hands (have to say that it feel a lot better than my Deluxe Tinker that was with me all the time). The fact that the larger blade locked when open, and the big screw drive also locked were really good things. I was sold on lockblades. Sorry, Deluxe Tinker, you will be in the drawer most of the time from now on.
Among these two. The Soldier is good, but IMHO the Jumpmaster is better. Like the traditional blade better than the front part serrated blade on the Soldier. If it came to the need of serrated blade, well the belt cutter blade will do it better cause of the slightly curves. Besides, the Jumpmaster has the traditional tweezers and toothpick that the Soldier does not have.
They both are wonderful knives. Am taking Jumpmaster with me every time. Just placed an order for 3 more of Jumpmasters. Somebody is going to have a chance to have this excellent knife as a gift from me.

5A knife every army could useOct 12, 2005
By F. L. Miller "Jaegermeister 911"
I have owned and used Victorinox knives from the line that inspired the Jumpmaster since 1987. I still use the two (Hunter, Backpacker) I purchased in '87 and '88 as my primary knives for hunting, camping and whitewater rafting. this one was purchased as a gift to my daughter when she graduates from jump school next month. My original two have served me well on military deployments and hunting trips around the world. They are sharp enough to be used right out of the box, keep an edge for a surprisingly long time and are fairly easy to sharpen with stone or steel. Cleanup is a breeze. The textured and shaped handle is light years ahead of the standard oval "Swiss Army" shape and the locking blade stays put when extended. The only kick I have against this series of knives is the lock mechanism is more susceptible to fouling than simple leaver type (Buck, et al). For the features it provides, it is light in weigh, handy, comfortable and very durable. If I were stranded on a desert island and could only have one tool, this would be it. You can keep the big "he-man" blades with the gee-whiz special ops sounding names and all the supposedly top quality knives from famous US and German makers. These babies just work! P.s. When my wife isn't watching, I sometimes use it instead of our high dollar German kitchen knives.
