SOLID bagAug 28, 2010 this is a very solid protective bag that has lots of compartments and padding. i am able to cram a lot of gear in it and it feels safe. the bottom protective padding is a nice bonus. i only wish it were bigger as i can not bring my 17" laptop, the 15" fits snugly and protected though. the tripod straps seem like they could have been a little longer?, as i have to kind of finesse them to secure the legs down, works?, just not as well as it could. all in all this is a very nice bag for when you want to bring a lot of gear. i took it to a wedding recently and had it loaded with two dslrs, a hd video handicam, variuos lenss, mics, lights, cables, batterys, tapes, tripods, laptop, etc etc etc..worked out very nicley
Just what I neededAug 27, 2010 This backpack is perfect for my camera lenses and computer and even has room for more, It only has one place for a camera and I always carry two but with the available lens spaces and the velcro inclosures I was able to make a space for my other camera since both cameras use the same lenses, so I can carry both camera's and 3 lenses my 15" laptop and other papers and a couple of small books, and the quality is awesome, really comfortable to wear also.
Great bagJul 29, 2010 I wanted something to hold my d5000, a few lens and a laptop for when I had to rush off to the hospital when my baby was born. This backpack was perfect! Its very customizable because all the walls and such on the inside are held in place securely by velcro. The camera bay is in the top section and it can be adjusted to accommodate a camera w/ a longer lens (like a 55-200mm) if adjusted right. Most of the time I keep my fixed 35mm or 18-55mm lens on and the camera sits in the bag nicely. I've arranged the bottom area to hold two extra lens snugly and then the charger and a lens hood. The side sections have mesh pockets to hold memory cards, lens caps, etc.
The only issue is the size, but I can't complain because I wanted something to hold a laptop. Overall, I love it. Hope this helps.

worn it heavily for the last 6 yearsJul 14, 2010 this bag is actually a bag manufactured by case logic. i purchased it as a case logic bag about 6 years ago for my canon slr. i wanted something where i could carry my laptop and camera with a few lens at the same time. i've used it as my primary work backpack with a laptop for the last 6 years. it has a very strong bottom end structure that is not soft, it appears to be made of some hard plastic. there is a lot of padding all around to protect your laptop too. i've carried 15" macbook pro as well as a dell laptop without any issue at all. i've carried it heavily on motorcycle rides as well as doing touristy stuff when i travel.
however i am sad to report that after years of abuse the zipper on the bottom portion has separated. i'll attempt my best to fix it, but otherwise i may have to replace it.

Great for smaller DSLRJun 12, 2010 I got this bag for my D5000 and it works great, but I would not recommend it if you have a larger camera. This bag is great for a D5000 or D90 but if you have a D300 or above I recommend another bag. My D5000 is fairly small for a DSLR yet it fit fairly snuggly in the top compartment. If you have any large zoom lens like a 70-200mm F2.8, I would also recommend another bag. The bottom compartment does a good job of holding smaller lens, but I don't think it was built with larger zoom lens in mind. You may be able to move some the compartment padding around to fit a large zoom lens, but your certainly could not store you camera in there with a large zoom attached.
For a smaller DSLR this bag is really great. The top compartment hold the camera nicely. There are six compartments in the bottom that holds your smaller lens very nicely. The two pockets on the side also come in handy. I store my large Gorilla Pod in one of the side compartments and it fits very nicely. The laptop pocket in the back is very large and will fit any laptop out there. The overall built quality seems very nice and it looks very nice in my opinion.
