Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage. FAKE APPLE MACBOOK ADAPTER! BE AWARESep 02, 2008
By XYZ I bought this apple mackbook adapter from the store front at amazon and was completely amazed to find out that its a fake macbook adapter, Guys please stay away from this store front "bobcatpower Storefront" and i would not recommend anyone to buy anything from this bobcatpower Storefront. The plug is loose and its very low quality. If you see the picture on the storefront it shows "APPLE LOGO" on the adapter but the adapter that received has no such logo.
When i ask the seller to take it back in return at the same time i wrote a honest feedback saying that the seller "bobcatpower" is selling a fake adapter and i really wanted other people to know so that they dont make the same mistake as i did, Now the seller threaten me saying that if i dont remove the negative feedback the storefront "bobcatpower" would the same to me. I am completely amazed as how amazon allows this kinda store front to operate. I am a valuable customer of amazon but now i really have to think hard before i make any other purchases on amazon's store front. When i asked the seller to return my shipping cost, the store front "bobcatpower" is replying me back with another threaten email saying that they would only return back my shipping cost only if i remove the negative feedback. But i dont care much about the shipping cost and i would make sure that this store front is banned from amazon who indulge themseleves in threaten their customers and also by selling wrong and fake items to their customers.
I would also suggest amazon to stop allowing this fake store fronts to operate on such a reputed online store.

Less than a week and it diedSep 01, 2008
By A. Armas The adapter box gets extremenly hot, enough to wrinkle the label and melt in the center. Within 6 days it died completely.

burns out in 12 monthsDec 19, 2007
By dunkalicious Got one of these with my second mac. And it's the second mac I've had with a power cord that frays and melts down. the magnasafe connection is a fantastic advance, but I don't understand why Apple has such a difficult time making power cords... i see that there is the option to make a video review, looking forward to filming the smuldering remnants of my power cord so that you can all share in the misery of second rate technology.

You won't mistake it for a Van Gogh, but it's merely imitating a Warhol.Aug 05, 2008
By Samuel Chell It seems odd to give this knock-off adapter a higher rating (by a wide margin) than the genuine article from Apple (perhaps the most maligned of all Apple products--there are websites dedicated to litigating the item out of existence). Frankly, I was expecting, as has been my experience in the past, a heavy-duty, decidedly indelicate adapter that would be adequate for use in my office. But the adapter you get is the cute and handy traveling model with the fold-out prongs and the two snap-out levers for wrapping the cord around.
This copycat version won't fool Apple connoisseurs. It lacks the indented Apple logo on the sides, the alignment of the two parts is far from tight at the joint, and the prongs are just a bit too stiff.
But it performs out of the box as well as the original and at half the price. Moreover, no one will know you're not up to Apple code except the user. The only question that remains concerns durability. Given the number of these I've had to replace at higher prices, I'd be surprised to be terribly disappointed on that score.

NOT WHAT IT ISDec 29, 2010
By mkvguerrero Initially I was looking to just go to Bestbuy or Apple Store and just buy retail, my husband told me buy it online, so, given my macbook is not charged and off and that the charger/adapter was not working, I went through my thoroughest search on my iphone, being too small, though this item shows the same information as my charger, I bought it, the cheapest amongst the bunch, once I got it, happy happy happy, opened it, and saw the adapter itself, I was not happy about the information on it. No Apple logo, it shows as "REPLACEMENT AC ADAPTER MODEL NO. A1184". Of course, I opened the attached order page, It shows "APPLE MAGSAFE 60W POWER ADAPTER FOR MACBOOK MA538LL/B (RETAIL PACKAGING)" with comments "60W REPLACEMENT COMPATIBLE CHARGER NOT OEM FOR APPLE MACBOOK. MADE WITH HIGH QUALITY PARTS. 100% COMPATIBLE REPLACEMENT ADAPETER NOT OEM." This CHARGER does not ever CHARGE!!!
OF course I am looking for ways to return this, well, they do not have a return policy... so I will have to go to BBB and complain to them as well, also if this will not proceed, I will obviously dispute this charge. I am happy that I got my mac to life back, but this is not a desktop computer. I need a real charger, guess I say Hello to my Geniuses again and will not trust third party because it is not even close to what I was shown it is.
By the way, why does the invoice show the comments and not the item itself online? this is a ploy to get people buy your product and wish they will love it instead of returning it isn't it? If my Mac gets destroyed because of this, see you in small claims court I guess.
